Telecare - FREE
Of particular interest to people who live alone, telecare allows for permanent home monitoring, significantly increasing levels of safety and peace of mind for the user, their families and/or carers. The service, which is provided by a Partner, uses a mobile phone that makes it possible to immediately activate the rescue service when needed, make daily proof of life, send alerts to the defined Carer, as well as being a practical way of accessing Medical Home Visits. AT a click of the SOS button on the mobile device the user can contact the national medical assistance line (24-Hour Health Line - Saúde 24), which will send out the rescue services and/or suggest appropriate measures for the reported situation. Daily proof of life is also essential for anyone who is particularly vulnerable, particularly, because it warns the carer in real time should there be a lack of response. At a set time an alarm is set off that must be turned off the the user by pressing all the keys designated for that purpose on their mobile phone. With telecare, the previously named carer, is also able to detect potentially dangerous situations, such as a lack of response to Proof of Life, activation of the SOS button or the device not working properly. In these events a text message is immediately sent to the carer's mobile phone. The mobile phone is also specifically configured for Medical Home Visits, provided as part of the Senior Health Programme, making it easy to get in touch when necessary. The telecare service is available throughout the period of the MEDICAARE SENIOR GIFT Campaign, up to 15 days after confirmation of membership payment or first monthly instalment of the Health Plan, provided it has been requested when the service is activated.
